|
On
the 12th of August 1945 the foundation stone of Holy Child College (the
combined Catholic Teacher-Training and Secondary School for girls) was
solemnly blessed by His Lordship Bishop William Porter and laid by the
Honorable T. R. O. Mangin, the Chief Commissioner of the Gold Coast
Colony. The Commissioner
was very happy that one of the post-war projects was to be the provision
of education for girls. On Friday the 21st of June 1946 the college was
formally opened by His Excellency the Governor Sir Allan Maxwell Burns
who was accompanied by his wife. PRINCIPAL:
